SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 13, 2005
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING 6:30 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. with the following in attendance: Selectmen Blessington and Patton, Town Engineer Karl Acimovic, Jack and Shirley Lewis and Bob Wiecenski.
A discussion was held regarding the bids presented for the Water Well Installations at the Senior Housing Facility. Stavens Brothers Inc. was the lowest qualifying bid. They had done the existing Senior Center well and have a good reputation.
First Selectman Eldredge motioned to award the water well installations to Stavens Brothers Inc. for the sum of $34,255.00 plus $12 per foot after 350 feet. Selectman Blessington seconded.
VOTE: 3 YES (Eldredge, Blessington & Patton) 0 NO
Karl Acimovic noted that Stavens would begin work on June 15, 2005 and the job will be completed by July 1, 2005. Also, three wells will be capped and ready for use. Karl has a short ad for the newspaper—a Request for Qualifications and Proposals the Operation and Management of the Senior Housing Water Supply and Distribution System. The RFP will be sent to each Selectman tomorrow and will be on the Selectmen’s agenda for June 20th. Stavens will bring in their Certificate of Insurance, surety, performance and labor and security bonds.
First Selectman Eldredge read the attached proclamation for the Year of Languages, 2005 for the schools.
John Blessington motioned to approve the proclamation. John Patton seconded.
VOTE: 3 YES (Eldredge, Blessington & Patton) 0 NO
Selectman Patton motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:46 P.M.
Selectman Blessington seconded the motion.
